Helicopter Longline Issue Resolved!

It has been confirmed from discussions between the manufacturer and Transport Canada, this issue has been resolved. Now the mechanics of returning HETS teams to service is being worked out. We will know the timeline of this shortly.

A big thank you to our MP Andrew Saxton who took it right to the top and to Brian Coxsford from Global and his first rate piece. This paved the way for the manufacturer to have the highest level discussions this morning. Thanks to everyone who commented. I deeply appreciate everyone’s concern and support to SAR.

There are times when action is required and this was one of them. Safety was never an issue. Informed and vastly experienced leadership was required to facilitate a high level discussion between the manufacturer and Transport Canada. Being an arm chair quarterback in this situation could have cost a life.
