| The North Shore Rescue Team trains
for avalanche self rescue and organized avalanche response. We
encourage the public to become more aware of these hazards and
learn the necessary skills to travel safely in a mountain environment
in winter. Check the weekly(remove - the report in produced three
times a week on Mon, Weds, and Friday and as conditions warrant) North Shore Avalanche Advisory
Report, as well as the Canadian Avalanche Center South
Coast Avalanche Bulletin by visiting the Canadian Avalanche
Center at www.avalanche.ca
North Shore Avalanche Advisory (NSAA)
The North Shore Avalanche Advisory (NSAA) is a cooperative effort
of -
- BC Parks
- Grouse Mountain
- Mt. Seymour Resorts
- Cypress Mountain
- GVRD
- Canada West Mountain School
- North Shore Rescue
NSAA avalanche forecasters assess the snow stability,
the avalanche danger rating and coordinate the technical data
that comes from the 3 local mountains, GVRD, and NSR.
Canada West Mountain School provides technical support and oversite.
The NSAA bulletin is produced via this team effort. As a result
we now have real time data for people who recreate in our local
mountains as well as for the sponsor agencies themsleves and for
other SAR teams who respond to this area.
