American Couple out for 2nd honeymoon walk on Dam Mtn. get customized return flight back to Vancouver. Bonding with NSR members and seriously, they were very nice people.

     
 
Mt.Elizabeth (Kitimat) Task - Sept 2002 
     

A major provincial response was launched to search for two young hikers who were reported overdue from a day hike  to the summit of Mt. Elizabeth outside of Kitimat.

NSR along with several  SAR teams from across the responded as a mutual aid request. In addition, employees of Telus, Telus and Alcan played a major role in transport and logistics and search personnel.

A joint Terrace, Smithers, NSR and Coquitlam team found both hikers deceased near the summit of Mt. Elizabeth.

Belligham Mounatin Rescue Task

   

Just days before 911, NSR HFRS members and Talon Helicopter's AS350 B2 perform a tight hot loading recovery of the body of fallen Canadian climber from Mt. Baker just below Roman Wall at 8,500ft. This recovery conducted as a joint operation with Belligham Mounatin Rescue and the Whatcom County Sheriifs Dept. The employer of the deceased climber paid for the helicopter time.

Mt. Seymour Task 1996

 
 

Phillip Gander who survived a 300 meter fall down a steep icy snow gully on the east side of Mt. Seymour in 1996 is flown over the sight by Talon Helicopters in 2002. It was his first time back to where he almost lost life and was in a coma for 19 days. A daring night time medical rescue by NSR and CAF 442 Squadron saved his life.
