The North Shore Rescue Team trains for avalanche self rescue and organized avalanche response. We encourage the public to become more aware of these hazards and learn the necessary skills to travel safely in a mountain environment in winter. Locally based CAC avalanche forecasters assess the snow stability, the avalanche danger rating and coordinate the technical data that comes from the NSAA stakeholders; 3 local mountains, BC Parks, Metro Vancouver, and NSR.
