On Saturday NSR members conducted a HFRS/HETs awareness program for members of Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue. The program consisted of a theoretical component, a dry-land practice session, and a evolution on the long line. The theoretical session went over uses, limitations, and familiarization of the system, while dry-land practice focused on personal rigging and escape from the system.
The live drills were done using Talon helicopters twin engine AS355 helicopter. Although the weather was cold and wet, all members got to be cycled through an evolution with a HETs technician.
